openDesktop.org improvements - we want your ideas!

Hey everybody,
in order to improve and to optimize the usability and user experience, we have decided to investigate in improvements and additions of new features and functions to openDesktop.org. Important for us are our users out there. Therefore, we decided to ask you as our community to bring your ideas or wishes in so that we can collect them and implement them. As you may know, openDesktop.org is a huge community network including kde-apps.org, kde-look.org, gtk-apps.org, gnome-look.org and many others similar sites. So proposed changes could applied for these sites, too.

Which features do you think could be improved? Where do you see potential for further usability optimizations? Are there any functions or features that you're missing? Or do you know annoying bugs which bother you? Propositions for usability improvements are also welcome! Now it's your chance for a change.
You can find a user group where we collect everything. It's also a place where we can discuss several propositions and concepts. So come on and get involved. We're looking forward for your ideas.

cheers,

PS: we are aware of tags, it's already on the to-do-list ;)

 More Web 2.0 Integrations

with external services. OpenID was the beginning, but I would wish more:

Digg, Delicious, ...etc.: Make it possible to post contents, news on such sites with a single mouse click.

Gravatar: Take the user pictures from Gravatar instead having to download them once again to another site.

Twitter: Users that specifify their twitter accounts can have their status updates being posted on OpenDesktop.org. And maybe even vice versa... OpenDesktop.org status updates will be forwarded to twitter. IMHO a separate status message system does not make much sense.

After all, we want a Social Desktop, so why not start with OpenDesktop.org? ;-)

Another one... would be great, if the individual categories would provide a better checking of the uploads. E.g. there are a lot of plain images in the KDE 4 Wallpapers section, while this section should hold wallpaper packages for KDE 4 including meta data and different resolutions.

I remember one guy asking for parental controls because of some of the wallpapers on here.

BSD is for people that like freedom.
Linux is for people that like "freedom"

 Lightbox

as i already suggested some time ago here:
http://www.opendesktop.org/comments/discussion.php?id=1&forumpage=0#c306652
i would love to see lightbox behavior in the content lists of the opendesktop sites. to stress this point i added opendesktop support to the greased lightbox greasemonkey script for a little demonstration how lightbox support on opendesktop could look like (it only works for png images though). you can download the script here:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/55037
and the greasemonkey firefox plugin here:

 improve xfce-look

gnome-look has sections for login managers, gmplayer, adesklets, splash screens, xmms & brainstorming, non of these sections are gnome-based so why they not listed on xfce-look?

--------------------------

and please add a SliM section(http://slim.berlios.de/)

--------------------------

on the submit site i can`t select xfce as dependency...

Reentering the page needs new login.
Single login doesn't work.

And why should I enter captchas, when I'm already logged in?

Unfortunately this is required to avoid spaming. Some spamers created an account, so they were able to post without captchas.
