Linus is endorsing Obama

Linus Torwalds is endorsing Obama:

"... The reason I bring this up is that while I can't vote, I did want to say publicly anyway that I really really hope that Obama will be the US president elect after Tuesday night. I realize it probably won't come as a big shock to anybody (yes, I'm a socially liberal open source freak from Europe - so what would you expect?), and others will just be angry..."

Quite a risk of "shut up and see" you've got posting this news. Now he is the president and many people rejoices about it.

It's no secret that apart from quite serious topics affecting the whole world's economy, Google will benefit from Obama's policies so it'll be, hopefully, with free software!

Let's wait and see what the future have to show us.

 Who cares?

Anyone...? The people of the US and the world all lost on election day, as would have been the case either way. Freedom lost. Think he's happy about that demon-woman Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? She fully supported(s) the Iraq War and believes in using force more than diplomacy. Can you smell the change in the air? I can't. Great endorsement, hope you get what you asked for.

right. the people had a great choice and his name was Ron Paul. But of course nobody wants personal responsibility for themselves and wants the government to give them everything

All we can hope for is that Obama won't have screwed things up too horribly by 2012, when we will hopefully see some liberty-minded individual in the vein of Ron Paul elected to the presidency

Cheer up! Things are getting worse at a slower rate.

Ron Paul. The darling of geeks everywhere (except me).

 President-elect Obama

Let's wait and see what difference Obama makes. I guess we have to anyway since he has no experience, no track record in an executive role.

Personally, I'm not optimistic.

Teknon.

(almost too "normal" to be a geek).

Rock on, Linus.
