Description:

Hey there,
in order to improve and to optimize the usability and user experience, we have decided to investigate in improvements and additions of new features and functions to openDesktop.org. Important for us are our users out there. Therefore, we decided to ask you as our community to bring your ideas or wishes in so that we can collect them and implement them.
Which features do you think could be improved? Where do you see potential for further usability optimizations? Are there any functions or features that you're missing? Or do you know annoying bugs which bother you? Propositions for usability improvements are also welcome!
You can find a user group where we collect everything. It's also a place where we can discuss several propositions and concepts. So come on and get involved. We're looking forward for your ideas.

ok, i decide to create a list which i edit each time a new idea comes up!


Tags for every content, knowledge base entry event

connection between contents (perhaps as \"author advises\")

add a krunner section on kde-look.org & kde-apps.org (although i prefer having them upstream)

more web 2.0 integration (twitter, gravatar? social bookmarks)

fast image preview via lightbox (don\'t know whether it fits here to the website load/traffic/performance etc.)

more gtk+-sections on xfce-look.org (login managers, gmplayer, adesklets, splash screens, xmms & brainstorming)

and please add a SliM section(http://slim.berlios.de/)

on the submit site i can`t select xfce as dependency...

Maybe some kind of implementation of bookmarks can be added to site. With the ability to somehow connect content together. For example when I like GTK theme and similar Metacity theme and an icon theme I would like to bookmark them and connect them to remember whole theme. These connections can be then shared as a suggestion to other users of this site.

By the way, maybe we could finally have resolved problem of links to other site in case of groups? For example use regular expression that replaces site name in link to that on which is displayed (so above link would be http://www.gnome-look.org/groups/?id=67 on GNOME-Look). Also I hate when I get comment notification that has link that points to site where I'm not logged in. Maybe we should have in profile option to select preferred site(s)?

Life is unfair...

Make it so that people who upload wallpapers can easily have all the different sizes of a wallpaper listed as a single item. That way they won't spam up the list of new stuff.

Maybe do the same thing for color variations and distro-branded versions too.

In other words, I think it would be nice to click a wallpaper and then see all the distro/size/color variations there instead of as duplicates in the "latest" list, search results etc.

When i edit my profile i need to fil a captcha, and its boring.
And the captcha fail many times to work in browsers like Opera, Arora, etc.

The forum is uncategorized. The look os this is a mail inboxwith theads.
In the groups too.
A most usual forum with topics and repplies (i like theads inside a topic with reppli of ani post) is more organized and functional.
The need of preview and before post in boring too.
