Description:

Changelog:

- v0.04 better tabs, adjust progress bar, adjust pressed buttons, less contrast stippled background (next version will have 2 ou 3 choices). I have some difficulties with the GTK2 version for the moment. So I invite you to test the incredible GTK-QT Theme Engine from davidsansome available here: http://kdelook.org/content/show.php?content=9714
- reupload archive for some pixmaps seemed to be corrupted
- Cleaned archive. It now contains an extra folder with the original Mosfet artwork extracted from the C++ files (courtesy of Ashley Collins). Some people might be interested ;). These original pixmap were compared to the one I used in v0.02 and that's why I hope v0.03 looked better after the changes I made. I alsa have to say that I could not managed to get enough time these last weeks to work on the project. Hope It will be better next days. Of course, collaborative work is wellcome.
- v 0.03 minor enhancements, better designed pixmaps, pressed buttons, different option menu pixmap with overlay but I still have problem with height (Try DVD Rip for example, you'll see what I mean).
Installation information added
- v 0.02 updated archive, hope there is no more bad hard links.
- v 0.01 only for GTK1.

 Beta testing

Well i have been trying this theme for some time .... here a few bugs that could have been avoided ...
1) There are a few hard cored links to /usr/share/themes ... this could have been replaced to links to within the folder cos for one, i use suse where the themes dir is /opt/gnome/share/themes.
2) the font rendering is not that smooth .... also qtpixmap complains of a lot of theme files missing cos of which my gimp refuses to start..
All these apart - Good Work again man.

 Good Job!!!!

Firt off all, looks excellent! Especailly for a 1st version!

A few "observations":

1. Push buttons - these don;t "move" down when pressed. Perhaps the "pressed" pixmap should have a row of "empty" pixles at the top, and an empty one to the left? Giving the appearance of movement? (Likewise the normal would have a row of empty at the bottom, and olumn to the right)

2. Comboboxes - the end with the "arrow" should be the button colour.

3. Tabs. Note sure if this is possible, but Liquid has a blue bar aong the top. Also, theres some re-draw errors on the tabs. (This may be a QtPixmap issue - I think Germaik had something similar).

...thats all for now. (I'll see if I can "fix" the pusbutton issue for you...)

Craig.

I thank you for your allways relevant observations.

1. Thanks for the tip. I won't have to think how should I do it :)
2. For combo boxes, I did manage to get the end with the button color. For this I used an overlay. Unfortunally, the overlay does not stretch the way I'd like too, specially with very small height combo (as in DVD RIP).
That's the reason I removed it. I write some comments in the gtkrc file about that I think.
3. You're absolutely right. I tried with the boxgap lines but it was really insufficient.

A very kind person (Ashley) sent me by email the Mosfet's original artwork he managed to extract from the C++ files. What do you think I should do, rework the pixmaps for which I have the original or try to release a GTK2 gtkrc file first ?

For the vombo-boxes have a pixmap the *same* size as your button pixmaps - but most of the conent on the left should be mepty (i.e. all alpha), with just the bit to be coloured blue at the end. Then in the gtkrc file, specify that the last X number of pixels (where X is the non-alpha bit) should not be stretched horizzontally.

Overlays are streteched the same way as normal pixmaps. in QtPixmap you can eaven specify that they should only be stretech horixonal/vertical.

The pixmaps you;ve got look OK - but I supoose if you want to be perfect your better of using the originals. As for GTK2, these will need to use mosfets pixmaps - as the GTK2 engine will handle transparencies (so you get the shadow on buttons).

QtPixmap reads colour and font information from ~/.qt/qtrc

Which version of GTK1 are you using? Its could be that the problem is in the GTK version - i.e. they may have changed something.

I know that someones reporting similar problems with QtCurve (which uses the same colour/font mechanism), but with GTK2

I'm uing Mandrake 9.2, anyone using mdk has the same problem?

Also i would like to know which file does Qtpixmap retrieve my kde color from

I guess you should uninstall galaxy gnome theme from Mandrake.

I've tried this solution on a computer which had the same problem. And it works.

Thanks, I allready use a very alpha GTK2 version wich can not be released for the moment. I did not have many hours free theese last weeks. It should be better soon. And still the GTK1 version is far from perfect.
So I hope the theme will become better with everyone encouragement and feedback.

I want to appreciate your work comrade! Very good and thank you.
But there is a bug - some buttons are too small. I use ALT linux - which based on Mandrake, but I don't want to use the Mandrake RPM(which seems to have some fix) Can you write what parameters to change?
