 Voting Down?

Seems like some jerks are voting the theme down! it has dropped from 80% rating to 75% rite now! i generally don't have issues with ppl voting a certain theme down, but please post ur reasons for doin so, instead of using the Vote button like a 1 year old kid!

You're acting like a lame fanboy auntaunt. People have the right to vote any way they want to without explaining their actions to you.....get over it.

What's that auntaunt, can't come up with an intelligent reply so you resort to calling names ?

Wtf is this?

Why are you jumping at auntaunt?

he is like one of the coolest users here
at gnome-look, he is just trying to help,
since that is something that's been going
on here at gnome-look lately , I think
throlling is what they call it... I don't
know, I don't really care if my themes get
voted down, but there are some really great
stuff here at gnome-look that gets voted
down for a very very very very false reason,
and if I'd had the addresses of those people
voting that artwork down , I would have
to pay a little visit with my shotgun...

*please do not take the above 100% serious*

now don't get me wrong... I think it's
good certain artwork gets voted down,
but when artwork that is really really
good (this theme is not one of those)
it really really pisses me of see some
damn fools voting that bad and scaring
the artist away!

Nof said.

He's got a point, though.

Voting something up without a comment is fine. It says "hey, I like it as it is, keep it up!" But when you vote something down without a comment, it's basically saying "I see a problem with this, but I'm not going to help you fix it so I will like it in the future."

For example, I voted it up, but I have this beef: the way the menu bar is, if you use a "blended" type Metacity, it looks very bizarre. But I'm using the default so that doesn't bother me TOO much.

By the way, Rob, I think this is your best. Remember how I kept bitching about the Metacity on Slickness, how it looked weird if something lacked a File/Edit/Etc bar? Well that's all fixed here! AWESOME. This one pulled me back to a monochrome desktop.

By the by, I say that as a "beef" but at the same time would prefer it not go "fixed" because, unlike my prior comment about Slickness and its file-menu-bar/window-decorator interaction issues, this one really, really works seamlessly with the packaged Metacity and it has that cool "sunken" look.

I mention that beef only out of a general "hey, I can't really customize this much" feeling, not out of actually disliking it.

Well thank you!

Yeah I know my themes are never customizable,
as when I create them, they are for
personal use, but after I uploaded my
first one here I was highly suprised to
how people reacted to my theme so I thought
I'd upload my future themes here and
I am still suprised the way people react
when I upload a new theme!
Enough of my blabbering...

Anyway about the votin, that you just sayd
is exactly why we need a new improved voting
system!

I always leave comments on artwork I like
because I want the artist to his work
is appreciated and that it's great!

That is why I don't like the good / bad
too much since when I like something,
I vote good, and when I think something
really revolutionary shows up, I vote
good, there should be more options!

Anyway, that was completely of topic!

I say a star system would be better. I think a lot of GREAT themes get buried because they get a "bad" vote or two and end up with a rating around 60% and then before it can hang around long enough to gather some more votes it's on the last page.

I don't know if this is a bug but I can't see the separators, any separator in your theme. If that is not a bug but a feature can you tell me where can I edit that in your the so I can see them please?

Thanks!

Yeah , that is a feature :D

just delete in gtkrc and panel.rc any
code that says hline or vline....

example:

image
{
function = VLINE
recolorable = TRUE
file = "/lines/line-v-black.png"
border = {0,0,0,0}
stretch = TRUE
}

image
{
function = HLINE
recolorable = TRUE
file = "/lines/line-h-black.png"
border = {0,0,0,0}
stretch = TRUE
}

be sure to remove both the { and the } so
that the code still works....

hope this helps!

Rob, I love seeing your new stuff. This one is a badass theme!

I love slickness dark, but I think when I redo my computer soon, I want it a little brighter, but still black def, and then check up on your profile and bam! youve created a badass silver and black one that looks uber slick.

Way to go man!
Btw, what icon theme you using there. I use Black and White, ive seen you using it before too, but I like a few of those you have there, what is that.

Thanks for your badass themes man. Your themes are by far my favorite.

Titanium. It's a good theme so far, but it's far from complete. Plus, frankly, it's a little hard to look at after a while. It's all stylistically similar, but at the same time really out there.

Cannot wait to see the final product, however. It's almost Titanium and TechniX were made for each other.

How does that correspond?

It's GNOME. Firefox uses the GTK theme. Just use regular old Firefox.
