Description:

this theme is the default in
Ubuntu Ultimate 1.8 ,info and download:
http://ultimateedition.info/Ultimate_Edition_1.8/

A very very overglossed theme I made....
I was unsure if I wanted to release it but
I remembered some people liking my other
themes...... Whatever , go here to fix
any browser font problems (for most browsers):
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504
it works like a charm and is very easy to use!
Big thanks to code933k for making it!

package contains gtk and metacity themes
(controls and window borders)

oh, and you can tweak the colors using
gnome theme manager.

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run this command:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/Overglossed /usr/share/themes

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the Overglossed theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

Any suggestions and feedback very welcome!

for the metacity code I used the codebase

of scaled black murrina made by twigsby.
everything else made by me from scratch.

HUGE thanks to artist taner for is exceptionally
beautiful artwork wallpaper!!!!

Changelog:

0.2 Changed the menubar highlight and re-made the menues (now we have overglassy menues to ;D)

0.3 You can now have white input boxes
(as shown on screenshot 3) cause I changed
some color inheritance (combobox now has
different inhertitance and cursor in
box inherits text color).

0.4 Now comes as a theme, Included taners
amazing wallpaper he provided for this theme!!!

04.08.2008 Taner made a new wallpaper,
It is absolutely fantastic! Uploaded with
that one and changed screenshots.
a HUGE thank you again Taner! You are
the best!

The panel images are located in:

$HOME/.themes/Overglossed/gtk-2.0/panel

I don't remember exactly how I named them

(I made them very fast so they don't look any good)

they only fit with a screen with 1280
pixel width.

Thank you so much! The panel background is really good ;-) I have tried a lot of dark styles and that is the best style I've ever seen.

Nice piece of work Rob, I think you're one of the most talented theme designers on gnome-look. I'm also interested to see how you're gonna refine this one.

Well thank you very much :D:D:D
You have no idea how very nice and inspiring it is to hear
something like that! :D

well, as for the changes/improvements I
usually listen to what changes users want,
and then I go from there :D

Thank you again for your lovely comment!

 menubar

Well, I do have one suggestion. The Gnome main menubar now has white highlighting for applications, locations and system. Maybe something with the same shade of blue would be better for the sake of consistency.

You know what? You are absolutely right!

I just didn't come up with anything else
at that moment :D

I will try to do something better for
next release!

Thanks for pointing it out tho!

I dislike the menues also, I will
make new ones to next release.

Any Ideas on what the menues should
be like then I'm all ears!

Why not do something for the gnome menubar highlighting like you did with your slickness black theme only using the blue of this theme?
