Description:

This is a very very black modification of
my slickness theme.
I made it cause someone here at gnome-look
asked if I could.

New feature since version 0.3:
You can now choose colors using gnome
theme manager.
It is my very first try at something like this so it might not work exactly as planned.

Feedback of any kind is always welcome :D

To fix browser problems go here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504

that fix will fix all your browser problems :)

A HUGE thanks to code933k for making it!!

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run these commands:
first:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes
second:
sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS-black theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Gerva has made a fix that fixes openoffice problems! :

Thanks Gerva!

Very nice, I like the way this has a mix of black and white and not all black, as you know I hate all completely black themes but you have a nice mix of colours here.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you guys! really! I am very glad you like it!

The black scrollbars are from a very old version
, I changed those because I thought they
where hard to spot.

The disabled text on toolbar is now fixed,
it was a so small thing so I don't announce updated, Thanks for reporting!

great theme man but theres kind of a problem. On openoffice word processor and presentation, the screens are black=(. The backgrounds in the slides are not visibile because they appear black and same thing in the word processor. If you can fix that, it would be great!

 root windows problem

Hi! I've been using the slickness theme for a long time and now I've switched to this dark version recently, would like to thank you for the amazing work you've done. However while on my desktop pc (with no compiz) everything works fine, on my laptop (with compiz) all of my windows displayed with root permissions - synaptic, login manager, you name it - are not matching the controls and button theme. Am I doing anything wrong? I'm not using emerald if that matters.

Thanks anyway and keep up the good job!

Thank you very much!

If you want to use the theme when working
as root you have to copy/extract the
package to /usr/share/themes (with root permission)

so the command would be something like:

sudo cp -r /home/USERNAME/.themes/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

replace username with your username :D

I am at school now and have not tested this command and if it doesn't work
you can always copy it there manually :)

Hope this helps!

I'm using this theme now, it's great.
only problem I'm having is with the menu text (gray on white). It's hard to read.

it also comes over into firefox.
I can't read some text because the colours are so close to each other. I have to highlight everything just to read it.

any way you could fix that?
the greyed-out text is not so good.

Thanks!!

everything you need to solve the firefox problem
you can find here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504

that is an excellent easy to use fix
provided by code933k.

as for the menues I don't understand...
since the menues are supposed to be black,
not white.

Thanks for using my theme!

hope this helps.
