Description:

This is a very very black modification of
my slickness theme.
I made it cause someone here at gnome-look
asked if I could.

New feature since version 0.3:
You can now choose colors using gnome
theme manager.
It is my very first try at something like this so it might not work exactly as planned.

Feedback of any kind is always welcome :D

To fix browser problems go here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504

that fix will fix all your browser problems :)

A HUGE thanks to code933k for making it!!

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run these commands:
first:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes
second:
sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS-black theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Gerva has made a fix that fixes openoffice problems! :

 Mostly good...

...but Pidgin's colors are a bit wonky. There's gray text on white in received messages, and the name of the sender is dark blue on black. Otherwise? Dynamite.

A temporary fix for pidgin is go Tools/Preferences/Conversations and uncheck "Show formatting on incoming messages". Then it will use your system colors instead of the colors the other person has set.

 OpenOffice

I have some problems with OpenOffice toolbars icons. Icons are not shown, i only see text instead of icons. Dont know if that's because of the engine or it's just a bug. Any ideas about that?

Anyway great theme, already using it. Keep this great work going on ^^

 Tip window decoratio

I forgot to comment about an emerald theme that suits really well with the theme. It's located here in gnome-look:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/radial?content=71352

I personally use the thinner one. Give it a try, it's worth of it. If u dont have emerald window decorator installed just type in a terminal "sudo apt-get install emerald" later on, to use it as your window decorator, just type "emerald --replace" that one will replace compiz gtk decorator with emerald.

Hope this helps making your desktop more lovely ^^

 Borders...

Thank you guys !

Both those themes are extremely beatiful and well done!

However I don't use compiz all the time
and therefor can not use emerald all the
time, and I prefer to have the same look
with and without compiz :)

I tried to make slickness theme to have
integrated titlebar and menubar (I like it
like that).

I have been meaning to port my slickness
metacity theme to emerald also, I just
don't know how to and I really don't use
emerald that often.

If someone knows a fast and easy way to
port it to emerald and is willing to do
so I'd be very very grateful!!

and btw, cool spanish saying :D

wow! it's a very nice theme!!

how did you do the panel like that? could you explain me step-by-step? because I'm trying to customize my panel and I can't put the buttons of the windows manager like that, they have a solid colour (I don't know if it is said like that) background.

Thanks!!

As for the panel if you have installed my theme
it should look like in the screenshot.
I have made bottom panel 32px high(right click on panel
and choose properties and in size inputbox
type 32 and press enter) , as for the window
borders , click customize in theme manager
and go to borders and select slickness black.

Also , if the buttons look funny then you should
check that you have pixmap engine installed.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have
other problems :)
