Description:

This is a very very black modification of
my slickness theme.
I made it cause someone here at gnome-look
asked if I could.

New feature since version 0.3:
You can now choose colors using gnome
theme manager.
It is my very first try at something like this so it might not work exactly as planned.

Feedback of any kind is always welcome :D

To fix browser problems go here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504

that fix will fix all your browser problems :)

A HUGE thanks to code933k for making it!!

!!!IMPORTANT!!!

To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run these commands:
first:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes
second:
sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg

4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the SlicknesS-black theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!

the icon theme it suggests is this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

any problems with the install let me know!!!!

One REALLY HUGE thank you to artist Taner
for his fantastic wallpaper!

Gerva has made a fix that fixes openoffice problems! :
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Openoffice+fix+for+slickness+black+theme?content=77415

Thanks Gerva!

Hi!

I just want to thank you for this amazing theme. I love it!

I use a modified version where I have exchanged the scrollbars with the scrollbars from your Overglossed theme. I think it looks very nice..

Thanks a lot!!

Yeah in the next release I will have better
scrollbars in this theme, or at least try
to do better ones :)

Maybe something in style with the ones
I have in the slickness theme....

Thanks for pointing it out(makes me do new
scrollbars faster :D)

Very very nice! I'm switching from my old faithful to this one for a while. I really like dark themes and was just living with a few of the apps where I couldn't read some of the text. Slickness Black seems to be working with everything so far. Thanks!

I didn't realize that BBCode doesn't work in the signature and that you can't edit your comment after it has been posted. Was wondering if there was a way to do that. no big deal. Anyways, nice work on this one and Overglossed. Really good looking themes.

 Please Help

I tried to put in the cmd into terminal and for some reason it said this:
jamie@DukeDevil:~$ sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes & sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg
[1] 6005
[sudo] password for jamie:
[sudo] password for jamie:

[1]+ Stopped sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

I dont know what it means. I really love this theme and I really want it. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you for your interest in my theme!! :D

Yeah, those install instructions are a bit wrong....
I thought I had them corrected butobviously
not... the only thing you have to do is split
the command to two commands, so they are

sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

and then

sudo chmod 777 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black/Slickness-black.jpg

hope this helps!

When I do the commands you say to do nothing seems to happen. After the first command it asks me for my password and then nothing happens. Then I put the seconds command absolutely nothing happens . I then check emerald and nothing has changed. I really love your theme and I really want it. Please help me out.

It's not supposed to give any output
in the terminal (if you don't get any kind
of error then it's working).

As for this not showing up in emerald
it's because this is a gtk theme, not
emerald :)

To get emerald theme, go here :

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

Just click in emerald theme manager :
import and scroll to the SlicknesS.emerald file.

Hope this helps!

 New Version ?

Hi,

I would like to know if you think make a new version of "Slickness black" more evolved as for "Slickness" which is more evolved. "Slickness black" is my favorite theme and it is a pity that "Slickness black" does not profit from the same changes (such as lift).

Bye !

Yeah I know... It's just that I don't have
enough time for this theming business....
I will update when I have the time :)

SlicknesS is the theme I use myself so it
feels natural for me to work on that one
in the first place :)

Thanks!

I see from the screenshot that you are using
a firefox theme, doesn't that change the
font colors?

Maybe not... are you sure you run darkfix
correctly????

since there shouldn't after that be any
problems in firefox :)

thanks for reporting tho!
