Description:

Borrowed a couple themes and added to it. Linsta and a Linsta black metacity theme for the window decorations.

FIREFOX FIX HERE:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=503508

Elephant wallpaper:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Animals

If you find a bug or have an idea to improve this let me know!

Changelog:

bottom/side window decorations are narrower when window is maximized.

Progress bars are orange.

Scrollbars are Chocolate.

Toolbars and window background are less silver and more human colored. Slight change.

New buttons (ok/exit stuff). They look a lil glossier. Got the idea from the schwermetall theme.

minor stuff

-updated range sliders.

-updated buttons and button prelights.

-supports up to a 36px panel height

9/5/07 Added a hack to make the Create Application Launcher more readable. Still not perfect, but better. It's a known gnome bug.

 Nice Updates

I'm using your gtk theme with the wallpaper here:

http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/details.php?id=1288

I'm also using it with the Kore Minimal-Glass Beryl theme, along with an orange skydome to match your color scheme.

I really like what you've done with this and I love the combination of the above together on my desktop.

Thanks!

I just realized that the ubuntu-smooth-chocolate background, that's in your images, works even better as the skydome image. It's nearly perfect!

 Firefox menu history

On Firefox the URL history drop down box or more properly the url auto-complete drop down has a black text on the black menu background.

I have found a fix for this issue.

goto your
.mozilla/firefox/xxxx.default/chrome directory where xxxx is a random block of numbers and letters and modify your "userChrome.css" file with following entry.

/* Change the url auto-complete text color */
.autocomplete-tree {
color: #ffffff !important;
}

Note: If there is not a "userChrome.css" file make a copy of the "userChrome-example.css" file and rename it to "userChrome.css" and then do the edit. Also, at this point you are not restricted to just using white, you could change it to any color you want.

I really like your theme. Thanks for all the work.

The only problem I'm having with it is that I can't seem to get my panels to look any good in any size larger than 26 pixels. Is there something I can do to change that, or is it just a limit of this theme?

This can be fixed. Need to go into /gtk-2.0/panel and change the png file to be taller. I think it's panel_bg26.png or something. Open in gimp and stretch the height to whatever you want.

 Thanks! and stuff

First of all... THANKS! This is the first Dark Theme i really like, it's shiny, it's plastic, it's 3D, and with the Firefox Fix it's almost perfect.

I do have some minor issues tho. Using Ubuntu, when trying to edit the properties of menu items with alacarte; the window background it's really almost impossible to look at. It gets filled with several "panel-png" like bars. Anyway to fix that?

Talking about panels, Rezising the png works if all the panels are the same size; in my case i have one at regular height (24px) and another one at 50px. I tried using colors and background images for both, but one of them allways end up being ugly (i.e. the larger one gets filled with two bars).

I really don't nkow much about building themes, but, can't be specified a different background pattern for different panel heights in the gtkrc file??

Anyway, thanks again!

I'm not sure how to fix the unreadable app. I've tried, but I think it may be an issue with the app. I'll look into it again tho.

Regarding the different size panels. I'll look into that as well.

 wireless bars

Just a little thing, when displaying a list of wireless networks, it shows this:

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/519/01zu6.jpg

instead of this:

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/6899/02ew1.jpg

I fixed this by adding a "clon" of theme-menu-item-black for the for the widget class "*MenuItem.*" because if it uses the same from the menus it show the wireless bars that way.

I don't know how this works, I just figure it out and want to let you know, im sure you know how to fix it in a proper way.
