Description:

PLEASE SEND ME YOUR FEEDBACK!

This theme is based off of the marvelous Synthesis theme - most of the graphics are mine, but the Synthesis config files have been virtually untouched.

I've tried to go for a smooth look, trying to get away from the obnoxious highlights that seem to dominate interface design nowadays.

Again, I greatly appreciate *any and all feedback* people can give. I'm particularly unsatisfied with the way the progress bar and menu highlights look, and would like suggestions on how to improve them. Send comments to jqubit [at] gmail [dot] com.

***
Screenshots have been updated with the transparency removed. Just so that there's no further confusion, this is *not* a metacity or emerald theme. I do not use a window decorator (compiz solves all problems), so none is shown in these pictures. If somebody feels compelled to make a metacity theme matching this GTK+ theme that would be great.

well, its kinda bland. simplicity is nice, but gray and green. weird.

also, buttons dont have any borders, so its hard telling them apart until you mouseover them.

also, your screenshots confuse me. i see the macmenubar, but where is the window border?

First off... this theme is great.

Now the suggestions...

- The menu highlights should probably be gray or blue-tinted gray, IMO. Maybe the color used for a depressed button (e.g. the play button in a media player while it's playing something). The progress bar I'm not so sure about; maybe the aforementioned color... Or maybe the one used for highlighted list entries.

- I think the scrollbars could be a little bit narrower. Maybe the menubars (and tabs?) could be slimmed a little too, though I'm not actually sure that's possible with GTK2...

Dont use translucent windows on theme screenshots. We can see nothing!

there is no theme in your screenshots. just a panel on top of the screen and a file manager and a terminal.

yes, there is - this is a gtk theme, not a window decorated theme - it's just the widgets, which have been smoothed out as much as possible, so the buttons do not pronounce themselves. I personally like the look of this.

I have made a very slight modification to the theme for myself - I didn't like the bright green selections and progressbar, so I have changed them for a light shade of grey, which to my mind goes better with the theme.

I think you have a very nice theme, well done. In terms of feedback, I think that you should make the Grey colors a few more shades apart. For example, the scroll bars and the selected tabs are hard to see.
