 Wallpaper

Where did you get the wallpaper from:)

It looks nice, but you see... we miss something - the graphics engine... i think it is futile to try to copy OSX further, they introduced quicklook and tons of animations everywhere, copying the cocoa elements just wont do it anymore.

Sorry, but this is the truth.

I used a screenshot from apple.com and cropped it a little bit.

Hmm, a lot of effects are already available on Linux, for example the wall plugin for Beryl (its exactly like "places").

I dissagree with that, as we only have TOPLEVEL window effects, nothing more.

In OSX you can have effects inside a window on an application level, something we will long for years from now. And this is sad, as they are using really the same hardware, like Intel 950,I played around with one yesterday, you will be impressed what it can do with this simple card compared to compiz/beryl.

Face it guys, we are BEHIND!

Not that I will give apple any money, they make lots of things wrong, but the graphics subsystem is YEARS ahead, I swear:)

So.... as we still hear only promises for support on toolkit level of the composite and so on, I believe it will be better if we not copy OSX anymore, I even hate the transparent menubar up:)

You themes is too impressive. I tried to use your "muku" theme, but rolled back to Nimbus one immediately. I wish your next theme wont't be just a copy of Vista or MacOsX, but bring your own ideas.

If you install heliodor, you can use metacity themes as your beryl window decorations.

Neat.
Since yesterday I was working on my own stuff un-aware of this. I got to making a panel background, start button, and search icon. I'll post a screenshot of my desktop in a moment.

They were more like I'd like them to be instead of what Apple made.

 How to install

I'm used to installing themes through Gnome's theme manager. The downloadable archive has two folders. How do I install these into my themes?

Don't untar the archive.
Install the complete .tar.gz.
Its the gtk and metacity theme bundled.
