 transparent bar

by baddison on: Jun 19 2008

I realize that you can make a bar transparent by using the alt key + middle scroll button on mouse. However when you do this the text and application launchers become more and more difficult to see. Is there a way to just make the bar semi transparent without changing the transparency of the text or application launchers on the bar.
Thanks

No, i don't think so.

Unless the developer of murrine releases his new RGBA capable engine. Then, I will base my theme on murrine engine.

The icon set is Oxygen, you can get it from ubuntu repository or type in terminal:

sudo apt-get install kde-icons-oxygen

I'm using google gadgets not screenlets, you can download it from getdeb.net

Theme looks great Moomex! Unfortunately, mine doesn't quite look like the screenies posted :(

I'm a newbie to linux, so sorry if this problem was already solved somewhere in the comments. I'm running Xubuntu on an old Dell Inspiron 600m. I installed the theme and I'm missing the black panel aka panel is white. Perhaps an installation error? Installed via the terminal, sudo mv Moomex /usr/share/themes

Great theme and any help would be appreciated!

This theme is for Gnome. It's not yet compatible with XFCE. You should have no problem using it on ubuntu.

 window decoration

by ElTimo on: Jul 15 2008

I apologize if this was already mentioned, but the maximize button seems to overlap the close button when you hover over it, and the close button has a sliver of black in it when you hover over it. I took a look at the pixmaps, and I noticed that all the window button pixmaps are the same dimensions. Is this necessary? Because I noticed that there seems to be part of the close button stuck on to the maximize/restore button's pixmap.

I hope this makes sense to someone.

This is a known bug due to metacity has some limitations (Button must be the same size). However, I will try to fix this in the next releases.

P.S, Moomex-Beryl shows how the metacity theme should look like.
