Description:

The same animated cursors as in my 'Golden Xcursors 3D' theme, but this time rendered in Silver.
Some People requested this.

Installation:

Copy the two folders 'Silver' and 'default' to your ~/.icons directory and
restart your X-Server.

If you want to have bigger cursors, you have to create an .Xdefaults file
in your home directory and insert the following two lines:

Xcursor.theme: Silver
Xcursor.size: 48

The default size is 32.

That's it!

Note: If the animations are flickering on your nvidia card with the latest
driver, add the following line to your XF86Config file, into the nvidia
device section, to fix it:

Option "HWCursor" "off"

Changelog:

0.4:
- added pirate
- a little less animation (requested)

0.3:
- added smaller size
- modified text-cursor
- added some symlinks

0.2:
- added 'fleur'
- slightly changes on some cursors
- added some symlinks

 Emacs problems

by andreak on: Nov 5 2003

When I use Emacs, the mouse offset is completely wrong. And the shape of the cursor is changing, sometimes the palin old X-cursor, and sometimes a carret, but the hot-spot-offset is wrong. Any hints?

 Help! Doesn't Work!

by JimJ on: Jan 16 2004

Score 50%

I installed this theme exactly according to directions, and it doesn't work at all (SuSE 8.1). I created a ~/.icons directory and placed the directories from the archive within it as specified and re-started X. No new cursors! Does anyone have suggestions?

TIA

Jim

 Why executable?

by PeterD on: Jan 26 2004

I like the look.

After installing Silver there were many files in ~/.icons/Silver/cursors with the executable bit set. Things seem to still work (pointers morph) after a chmod.

 Konqueror pointer

by PeterD on: Jan 26 2004

Score 50%

I like the look, but when the mouse pointer dissappears over Konqueror - well becomes hard to see. With my black background and the mostly black pointer it is very hard to find.

Is it possible to have a background sensing or XORing pointer, or at least one with a wider white center?

Thank you.
