 ArchLinux

I've been using Your theme for some time and got really anxious to see what's new.
I'm using ArchLinux.I updated the engine to the 0.40.1, all other murrine themes seem to work perfectly. Your pack doesn't, it's like the engine wouldn't work. Look below for what I mean.

I can't seem to find the guilty party so mayby You could help a bit :)

Did you try to restart X?

When I installed the new engine it didn't 'understand' the new options with the oldskool ugly theme as a result. When I removed the new options the theme worked again. It seemed like it just had the old engine loaded in its memory or something. So it doesn't know what to do with the new options.

Yep, restarted X, restarted the computer, nothing helped.
I can't seem to understand what's wrong.

Hmm, I don't know then.

You could try to recompile it again, maybe there are some errors in the output or something.

You could also try to edit the gtkrc file of a theme that works, and put some of the new options in there (see the changelog of the murrine engine).

Just to make sure, I downloaded my themepack, removed my themes from my .themes folder and copied the downloaded ones into it, and it works fine. So there must be something wrong with the engine on your side. Otherwise contact Cimi about the problem. (the creator of the engine)

My bad. I had the engine PKGBUILD misconfigured.
Sorry for all the fuss, and thanks for the great theme.
For the interested, working PKBUILD for latest murrine engine for Archlinux :

...how I could keep the old murrina background in the menubar (I'm not sure how it is called but it's located between the titlebar and toolbar)??

Personnaly I found it nicer than the last version.

Regards.

http://home.planet.nl/~bassa052/themes/panel_bg.png

Download that image and replace it with the ones located in the folder of my themes.

/home/`whoami`/.themes/MurrinaFancyAncient/gtk-2.0/panel_bg.png for example.

I only rotated the image 180 degrees. I did it because it fits better with the new glaze style I used.

Ow, I guess you meant something else right?

Open the gtkrc file located in my themes folder, scroll down a little bit (line 49 here), and change this:

menubarstyle = 2

to

menubarstyle = 3

Then reload the theme. There are more options there. You can also use the Murrine Configurator to change these things.

 Panel Color

Hey I love the addition of the glassy panel look, but I was wondering if you could take that one step further and offer glassy panels that match the color of the themes.

I like the idea, but it doesn't look pretty without modifying some other things of the theme. And since this is a Clearlooks port, I do not want the theme to become something totally else.

Maybe I do something with it in the future.

But, I've made a striped and a gradient panel background image, so you'll be able to match it with the menubarstyle you like. It will come with the next release.

You can do it yourself.

Open a terminal, and type:
gedit .themes/MurrinaFancySky/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

Scroll down until you get to: engine "murrine"

Then remove the # in front of this line (do not remove the 2nd one):
# scrollbar_color = "#5598d7" # deepsky

Then reload the theme and you'll have blue scrollbars.

If you do not use MurrinaFancySky, replace that with the theme you use.
