Description:

Chameleon Xcursors theme is a cursor set created primarily in Inkscape and ImageMagick (for semitransparent and shadow).
Work on KDE and GNOME.
The cursors border color is negative of body color for high visibility.
(Small/Regular/Large version included)

Installation:
install from KDE Control Panel or
uncompress file in the ~/.icons directory and choose the theme from kde or gnome control panel.

Note:
if the animations are flickering on your nvidia card, add the following line to your xorg.conf file, into the nvidia device section, to fix it:

Option "HWCursor" "off"

 2 Requests

Hey. I really like this theme, dumped Crystal Xcusors for it. But there are a two things I'd like to see in it:
I wish the hand cursors were blue like the rest of the theme and not white, and I'd like the resize cursors to be halved in size, they're too long. If you could please do so, I'd really appreciate it.
Other than that, I must say I love the theme. It flickers when the cursor is over a video or game app with a high framerate, but apart from that, I love it. Great work man. :D
Thanks, and keep up the good job. :)

 Animation framerate

Hello again. Thanks for fixing those issues I asked about. :)
I also didn't notice the tip about the flickering cursor until I re-read your description after you posted the new version. Sorry to nag, but could you add one teeny tiny little extra feature? Just bump up the framerate on the animated cursors a little bit, they don't look so very animated the way they're now. Thanks. Great job as usual. :)

I said I noticed your solution and fixed the flickering, but now that I see the entire animation, the frames are visible, they shouldn't be, that's what I mean.

And I use Xine to play video.

 build file

Do you use a script to build the cursors like the one for ComixCursors? They seem really similar to Comix (with the shadow and transparency) and just wondering because It'd be cool to be able to customize them that way.

 Top notch set

The Uber Good:
I would call it "almost" major distro worthy. Amazing attention to the details! The very, very slight transparency is perfect. Simple, yet, very elegant. Finally, a good, simple cursor set, with a cursor icon that doesn't look like a traditional cursor.

The Slightly Bad:
I would play with the shadow offset and opacity more. In my opinion, the shadow is too much to the side, and visually moves the weighted average center too much to the lower right. I hope you get the script out soon, so I could tweak my set and not bother everybody else who likes it like it is.

The is also a glitch with this set that makes the experience of using it even better!

If you click on a "form" field (text entry field on a web page) and your cursor is set to "autohide while entering text" in Control Center:
the cursor will actually blink 4-5 times, together with the actual text entry cursor and then disappears. Cool! I know it's not by design, but I like that.
