[ FAQ ]

question: the buttons for the window border being on the left,
is that a theme thing or can that be configured somewhere?

Answer: ( original tutorial by -fissy. )

using the "run program" action or a terminal, start gconf by typing:

gconf-editor

and hitting enter.

This program is a bit like the registry editor for windows.

In the tree on the left you need to go to /apps/metacity/general/

There is then a key in the right pane called "button_layout"

edit this key so that it reads:

CODE
close,minimize,maximize:menu

or
CODE
close,maximize,minimize:menu

enjoy!

Hi, this is a original MacOS screenshot, so don't try to find some Gnome top or bottom panels like this.

it's not a faked screenshot.
he use gdesklets, and so you have a starterbar like this. I use this desklets (called "starterbar"), wich has the same look, like mac.
the others parts are just icons so...

Yeah no it's not a fake, he just uses a magical port of Internet Explorer that he found while digging for gold when he met the lepricons. Here's a tip: try looking at the picture before commenting on it.

Okay say he installed IE 5 for some reason only God knows why. How do you explain the OS X toolbar that appears on the top panel? Or the fact that the toolbar at the bottom looks nothing like gdesklets' toolbar?

Yes it works on Debian, well unstable at least.

Had to make a small change to the button switch instructions, had to add an extra close for the close button to appear.

Okay, don't need the extra close just add a comma before the code, eg.:
,close,maximize,minimize:menu

gdesklets take a lot of resources to run, not for the older system.

How did you manage to get Global single menu(/toolbar like mac) for gnome? I use fedora core 6. Is it possible to configure. Please give me pointers if possible.

Thanks,

If its a unix theme, made to look like a mac theme, why is there an internet explorer icon?

Otherwise great job.

 Is it just me?

I don't know if it's just me or on an LCD monitor, does this theme look like a Windows Paint JPEG?

The effort is nice and it might be a good theme for show and not authenticity, but if you're going for an authentic Mac OS X look, veer away from this one.

 Need more instruc

I like your theme. However, I am a newbie and can not make it work.

1. How to setup the top and button tool strip?
2. When mouse over the button, both foreground and background color become white, the label is almost invisible.

Another thing, I thing you have to install another package and change user interface as well as the windows manager to make it work? Can you put more instruction on the install guide?

Thanks
Jack
