[ FAQ ]

question: the buttons for the window border being on the left,
is that a theme thing or can that be configured somewhere?

Answer: ( original tutorial by -fissy. )

using the "run program" action or a terminal, start gconf by typing:

gconf-editor

and hitting enter.

This program is a bit like the registry editor for windows.

In the tree on the left you need to go to /apps/metacity/general/

There is then a key in the right pane called "button_layout"

edit this key so that it reads:

CODE
close,minimize,maximize:menu

or
CODE
close,maximize,minimize:menu

enjoy!

 Disappearing text

 by ktindle on: Jun 2 2005

I love this theme- but for two things.

The first is text that disappears as you roll over it. Text attached to check boxes and radio buttons will turn white on a white background when rolled over. This is seriously not good. Text should not go blooey like this, ever.

Scroll bars do not work correctly in all gtk2.0 apps. The secondary reversing "up arrow" does not always appear, but the space for it does. This is a niggle, but it is quite ugly, too.

This and one other problem I've noticed. Thunderbird doesn't keep highlited the open folder in folder list when you click on a message. I don't know where to go about fixing this else I would provide a patch or change.

I should clarify. This=the disapearing text when highligting a minimized window. Otherwise, the theme rocks! Certainly not enough to keep me from using it.

For the first problem (disappearing text), you can edit the file
~/.themes/MacOS-X/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

near the top of the file in the "default" style there is a line that says:
fg[PRELIGHT] = { 1.00, 1.00, 1.00 }

Those numbers are treated as rgb values between 0 and 1. So I changed mine to:

fg[PRELIGHT] = { 0.25, 0.25, 0.25 }

And it makes the text a shade of gray which is visible against both white and blue backgrounds

Thanks for any help.

But i had some problems with icons in ubuntu :( Is there another os-x icon theme for gnome 2.10?
And I wanted to ask how did you made that top panel? With those icons at the dokk, and the left side of panel. I didn't find any how-to-s for this.

all you have to do is drag the file to the theme folder of the icon section and the icons will be installed.

hope that helps.
