I know this is totally subjective and this isn't only directed at this theme (in fact I've given you a thumbs up for the rest of the design)

BUT

Do people really like those fat, ugly, badly underlit, chunky iconed Aero inspired buttons? (IMO)

I really hope not.

Some do, some don't. I know that when it comes to Linux, using anything Aero/Vista related is considered bad by some Linux users and/or Linux purists.

Like anything else, I suppose, it's just a matter of opinion. Personally, I can take 'em or leave 'em. But I do like those icons better than the default XP icons.

Yes they do, unfortunately they are better than anything we (or even Apple) have been able to come up with.

Playing with the compizthemer settings is easy, but creating a really new and attractive button design is not.

Hi,
I finally successfully installed XGL/Compiz with cgwd etc....

I also downloaded and installed cged-themes. But when i select some theme in cgwd-themer the compiz theme doesnt change man!! wat do i do?
waiting for ur kind replies...........

Ya CGWD-themer(gcompizthemer)

i hav also installed cgwd themes thru apt-get...But still the default compiz window manager doesnt change

It's either CGWD Themer or Gcompizthemer. Not both. Gcompizthemer is dead and has been for weeks, maybe more than a month.

You need CGWD Themer.
