Description:

I was looking through my system sounds and decided I needed to do some work with arranging so I decided to write a set of Star Wars sounds and try them out for my system. All files were created using my own soundfonts and are in ogg format. Let me know what you think.

Why is this GPL?

Infact why are tons of non-Free stuff on this site listed as GPL?

This site really, REALLY needs a kick in the butt when the case is misrepresenting the license of obviously copyrighted work.

The reason that I put it as GPL is because these are my own arrangements, and since yes the original are copyrighted material and in order to actually make money off of my arrangements I would have to get a copyright of my own, I'll keep them as they are. These arangements were all done by ear and from memory, there was no sheet music or recordings used to make them.

Yet... you used gpl, that actually needs someone to hold the copyright to be effective.

Great sounds btw... ianal, but you should be covered by fair-use here.

my understanding is any and all copyrighted materials can not be used to gain any financial gain... and in countries like canada, the laws here allow me to download anything off the net (with the exception of CP) without any punishment, its by uploading that we get nailed... With that being said, its the responsibility for those materials to be monitored by their owners...
