Description:

so here is another improved version of TuxCursor.

i decided to make a completely new upload because the look of tux has changed.
the face is now more like the original tux, as requested.

but personally i prefer the agressive look of tux in the original cursor.

on the other side this cursor is even cuter...
decide on your own ;)

for instructions, reasons and credits take a look at the other tuxcursor.

*additional info*
RESIZING FINALLY WORKS!
some users asked about simple resizing.
i finally found a way to do it easy.

create an '.Xdefaults' file in your home directory and add the following lines:

-------
Xcursor.size: 32
Xcursor.theme: tuxcursor
-------

Availiable Sizes: 32 (small), 48 (medium), 64 (big, but max. detail)

Be sure to check to cool animated hourglass i redid for the waitcursor!
Tux is in the hourglass and gets some Spinning :) just cool

Changelog:

0.4: finally resizeable!
added animated hourglass ; )
licensed under the GPL
thanks to Ralf Nolden (kde.org) for
license advice.
0.3: made the face cuter
0.2: added dropshadows
0.1: initial release

License:
licensed under the GPL
see:http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
for more info.

Dont worry, its still free.
GPL license is just that M$ doesnt steal the ideas ; )

 please update

The tux cursor is still on of the best cursors for X. Could you please make a current archive and update the download?

The theme only needs the folder tuxcursor_cute (or whatever you choose to be the main folder) with only the directroy "cursors" and the index.theme in it.

[Icon Theme]
Name=Tuxcursor cute
Comment=cute Tux cursor
Comment[de]=niedlicher Tux-Mauszeiger
Example=left_ptr

The folder "default" is obsolte.

It is in italian but you still should understand it ;)

 Help with Ubuntu installation

 by alt3rn1ty on: Aug 14 2008

Currently on Ubuntu this really messed up my installation (although I am no authority on the subject - Linux noob).
I place your index.theme out of the default folder into main tuxcursor folder (which seems to be the general consensus since default no longer valid), which also has the sub folder cursors, then place tuxcursor folder into ~/.icons
I can then select your cursor in compiz config appearance/custom/cursor.

It works but.. size 32 main cursor, all the rest are HUGE, worse still my terminal no longer functions, I lose a lot of desktop graphical settings which is further compounded by root access is stopped because entering a password no longer works.
I then have to choose an original cursor and re-install graphics driver before I can get my settings and terminal and password functionality back to normal. Love the cursor, unfortunately bad vote here.

Try posting it on the Ubuntu Forums, you will surely get a better response than here.

drag/dropp the tarball onto the preferences screen. It worked on my Ultimate Edition :)
