Description:

This is only my work in the sense that I ran a program, checked a little box, then clicked OK. Using KDE4 with the default Oxygen theme and and the "Use KDE Style" feature of gtk-kde4 (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/gtk-kde4?content=74689) produces one of the most accurate ports of the Oxygen theme I have seen.

So now you can enjoy the "breath of fresh air" in Gnome while you wait for KDE4 to mature enough to be usable. Don't thank me, credit goes to the Oxygen team, and to Yulian Konchunas for creating gtk-kde4. It appears the gtkrc file and structure of the theme it creates is from Kimmik's "OxyGnome" style (his Metacity theme is included with this).

Kimmik's style may be found here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/yet+another+OXYGEN+style+for+Gnome?content=64748

Recommended Icons may be found here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/OxyGnome+Icons?content=64872

(Theme requires the Pixmap Engine)

 I'm sorry, but...

... this is just plain ugly. There's white artifacts, "-"-signs all around where they don't belong and far too blown fonts. This is useless, if you don't plan on fixing it.

For the time being I'm stuck in KDE while a large file is being converted to another format. When I can get back into gnome I'll investigate. It looked fine in Gnome on my end when I tried it just before the upload. To the best of my knowledge it doesn't mess with the fonts and just uses what the gnome font dialog tells it too.

As I said, I'll investigate further when I have the chance.

OK, so hoping that she won't get mad at me, I quietly snuck over to my wife's machine, booted it into Gnome, installed the theme, and I've posted a screen shot of the result. I see a couple of small artifacts at the corners of the range sliders, but otherwise I'm not sure what problem you're getting. I've also used this as my GTK theme at work (albeit in KDE4) for a couple of days without any problems.

Contact me through my profile on Gnome look, and try to get a screenshot my way. Once again this is not my work, and I'm a lot more familiar with Clearlooks than Pixmap, but I'll do the best I can to resolve any issues you (or anyone else) calls my attention to.

This worked wonderfully well. The artifacts in the screenshot don't appear on any views I've used at High resolution. This is my main theme - I use this with the Aurora GTK engine and my desktop is pretty and matches well with Oxygenized KDE apps.. :)

Oops, I mean with a the BC RealOxy theme (or the Oxygen) and it works well.. I didn't mean with "Aurora".. I replaced Aurora with this!

 Not the best

I'd say it's adequate, for now. If Gnome users, or KDE users who use GTK programs, want an accurate Oxygen Gnome theme, I think it will have to be built from the ground up. Perhaps even with a new GTK engine. Surely someone will do it when they get bored of making another mac clone theme.

I would greatly appreciate help in making the appropriate numbers appear as subscript in this sig.

Now that KDE 4.1 is in a truly usable state (including rendering GTK with the KDE theme), I'd recommend using the real thing.
