Description:

This is my first theme - please let me know if I've botched anything with the theme file!

This is a derivation I began a while ago, based on Darkly Glassed by kingrayray. In addition to the tweaked visuals I've added a sticky button on the left as well as a shade button on the right. I'm not sure where I found the actual buttons - if you know tell me so I can credit the proper author!

I've got transparency set on gnome-term such that it creates a nice solid effect. Play with the slider until you get it just right.

I recommend using Clearlooks-Quicksilver.

Also, thanks to Exoteric Roach for his excellent wallpaper.

Other Information:
You'll see that my gnome panel font is white, but everything else is the normal black. To do this you'll want to create a file (unless it's there already) in your home directory called .gtkrc-2.0
by doing:
sudo nano .gtkrc-2.0

In that file I have the following:
gtk-menu-popup-delay = 0
include "/home/sully/.gnome2/panel-fontrc"

The first line sets how long you need to hover over a menu before Gnome opens it. I like it snappy and fast, so I have it set to 0. The second (and important line) here tells gnome that I want to use a custom color for my gnome panel font.

Save this file, and then to this:
sudo nano .gnome2/panel-fontrc

The contents of this file should be:
style "my_color"
{
fg[NORMAL] = "#FFFFFF"
}
widget "*PanelWidget*" style "my_color"
widget "*PanelApplet*" style "my_color"

#FFFFFF is white - you can use Gimp or other various apps to find other custom colors and their corresponding hex codes. Save and quit - log out, log in - and you're done!

*********************Update*******************
Until I have some time to design something original I've decided to revamp the buttoms to loose the familiar Windows icons - they're now just colors, and I like them more.

How did you get your terminal to be all black and transparent. I installed your theme (which is great, by the way), but the input area of my terminal is still white?

Sorry, just caught your response.

Right click on your terminal's background and select Edit Current Profile.

Then uncheck "Show menubar by default", under effects use the slider to make your background transparent, and under scrolling check "disabled" - you can still use the mousewheel. Save, then right click and deselect show menubar, and you're all set!

I just wanted to compliment the author of this theme. I keep trying others, just to see how they stack up to Enduro Black. But I always end up coming back (usually immediately).
