In this fact I must give you right. :)
But I have no experience in using the english ubuntu forum. and well, there a many young guys, using unbuntu as their hobby. also here in germany.
also the desktop look a like contests on this forum sites are very strange.
"what is this font? Uuuuu, and this gadget? Woow, where do you get this wallpaper from? And this windowdecoration? How I get this Taskbar in mac os style?" and "Uuu, I don´t like this program because its different than the prog in windows, I like to have it like in windows..." They are all searching for pendants to windows.... But why??
And if you have a problem with a program or a driver, you were lost..... The best thing in this fact is using google or bing. There you can avoid the ubuntu search results... ;)

Hmmm, I think you should READ the comments... My Ubuntu looks like Fedora... not Opensuse.... whatever...

No, I´m not forced to join this group, but I hoped to read some constructive criticism. But I was frustrated.
The most I can read here is pubertal jabbering.
Here in germany we like to find out other people opinions to understand their problems. Maybe to help solving this problem.

And I think thats the sense of this panel.

You should be happy. A group, consisting of one guy, would be very embarrassing.... ;)

Hmmmm, I get eyecancer reading your comments.....
The only thing you can do is squeezing shit out of your mouth.... and this obviously deliberately.....
Maybe you even don´t know what it means to hate something....
What is different from fedora to ubuntu? Or from opensuse to mandriva? the kernel? the desktop environment? the packages? The packagemanagement? Maybe. The actuality? Possibly. The way the coder implement their ideology in the distro.... It´s my opinion. And I have used all big distros.
My fedora look like ubuntu. My Ubuntu looks like fedora. My mandriva looks like opensuse, like kubuntu, like pclinuxos...... A Gnome using distro looks equal or similar to an other. The same with KDE.
So what the hell you HATE at ubuntu?
Do you have to spent money for that? Are you forced to use it? Are you a gnome hater? A KDE hater? A commandline hater?

Sorry for my english, i´m not an native speaker..... :)

The question is: Should Linux be more famous?
If Linux should be more famous than now, Ubuntu gets the right way. It provides a functional distribution. Easy to use and good for people who came from Windows. Windows user need a simple Linux Distro.... Thats why Ubuntu is so successful. No user would write scripts or work with the shell or console. Except Linux freaks. Developer are payed for there work. That´s okay. As long as it´s costless for me. You can decide which desktopmanager you use. KDE or GNOME or XFCE or.......
You can change your look & feel if you like it. But this options are valid for EVERY linux distribution. It doesn't matter whether you use ubuntu, fedora, opensuse, mandriva or any other distro.

Sorry for my bumpy english....
I´m not a native speaker....
