let Windows keep the noobs and the top rung on the corporate ladder. more than half the problem with Windows is because noobs use it. Linux (and the applications... e.g. Firefox...) is not invulnerable, it is just still impractical to spend time exploiting it still when 99% of the users are smarter than the guy writing the spyware and virus.
also, I am not the worlds tech support. I have so many better things to do in life than deal with people who are having problems on their Mom's new Dell running Ubuntu because the 14 year old kid wanted to feel like a rebel against the corporate overlords.
oh. and most of the wallpapers are pretty crappy. lol. |

some people maybe are driven by hate. it does not really matter as long as we all agree we are tired of crappy stolen art with ubuntu logos pasted on top. |

it is not ubuntu i hate. it is the flood of crappy wallpapers with the ubuntu logo on it, especially when all someone did was steal someone else's work and drop the ubuntu logo on it. that really gets me. |

yeah. i can understand wallpapers specially designed for a distro (i have made a few for mine of choice) but taking other art and dropping ubuntu logos on them is hell annoying. and then flooding the index with the same image but in a different resolution or colour.. ffs zip them together and make it a pack.
there was a while devart canned their anime category because all people were doing were stealing art and adding stupid crap to it. i see this as no different. |

personally i enjoy the long login sound, since it happens in the background not like my system halts while it goes. ... i would like to hear login.wav extended into a full length tune :o |
