You can also use a normal light theme and use the negative colors on everything so as to get a consistent "dark" look everywhere.

Where to download
May 24 2008  on group Elbuntu

I went to the website but I found that the download link is broken. Is the iso somewhere else?

It's not that I don't like it (As I said I did use it before) What I was saying is that the "no ubuntu wallpapers" group stopped long ago talking about the wallpapers and went into some sort of "ubuntu users are idiots" flaming. This offcourse happens mainly in pages 2 up to like 10, then it goes into a "fistfight" over who agrees or not with the group creator.

May 24 2008  on group Ubuntu

I know what the group is about. But if you read past the 2nd page you'll notice that the "topic" begins to degenerate (at least some users begin to) into a flamefest against the ubuntu users (just look at some of the comments, like this one from page 5:
"I join the group cuz i want to see on this site more creativity for ALL GNU/Linux systems.

I'm not using Ubuntu : i want GNU/Linux Art for all !

Ubuntu fanboys remember me Micro$oft fanboys ... are you the sames guys ?...

Another thing : there are too many copyrighted contents release under GPL : WTH ?!
( for exemple with Vista logo or others ...)
dont want to see Vistaish & Macish anymore !

Stop ripping copyrighted design : be original plz :(

I love Linux because IS Linux.

ps : sorry for my english :s"

or this one from middle of page 2:

"Have you ever been in #ubuntu on freenode? its a cesspool of stupidity. Really, its a damn zoo in that channel."
there are others like that in that group, just trawl it from page 1 to page 15 and you'll see).

Re: Re: KDE4 peeves
May 24 2008  on group KDE 4 Fans

Sorry, I just haven't tested it beyond gutsy. I did read somewhere on a KDE mailing list that there's a KDE SVN playground a mac menubar plasmoid, unfortunatelly it's not very useful yet since the from what I read there (I'm not suscribed to it) the KMenuBar() function in Qt4.x is somehow hardcoded in a bad way that means the menubar doesn't show up in the plasmoid (and if the app was opened after adding the plasmoid, it doesn't even export the menubar at all, keeping it in it's window).
I just hope that by version 4.1 they've added the plasmoid to the default list and made it actually work.

KDE4 peeves
May 24 2008  on group KDE 4 Fans

I just tested KDE4 (on kubuntu) and I can say that I really hate the fact it's even more windows-like than even KDE3. Whereas in KDE3 you could change the ugly-ass defaults by adding the Mac menubar and moving applets to it and then removing the panel and sticking kibadock. in KDE4 you can't even move the panel or resize it. Let alone adding a mac menubar to the panel.

I got a question. Is the mac menubar feature something they plan to add to KDE4 or it was discarded at all?

Q. about this WM's
May 24 2008  on group No - Desktop !!

Hi. I have been having a small curiosity and this seemed the best place to ask.
What is it that drive people with reasonably spec'd PC's (1GB RAM, AMD Athlon/C2D) to run this non-fancy WM's? Is it the "the uglier the better" mantra, or the M$ law that says you must use the ugliest thing to remain "productive" and "professional"?

Re: Re: ?
May 23 2008  on group Ubuntu

By the looks of the prominently visible "No ubuntu wallpapers" group I guess it's quite obvious there aren't many people who would admit having used or currently using ubuntu.
BTW. I did use ubuntu for a while. I'm in other distros now mainly because ubuntu can't use bootsplash (ubuntu's initscripts are all fouled up and only usplash understand them).
