First of all thanks for your reply, but I get two situations. If I simply copy them nothing changes, I still get different looks for root user apps. If I move them, as you suggested, then I can no longer choose them in the theme preferences. In both cases I tried restarting X before confirming.

Hi! I was wondering why Synaptic or login manager or other adminitrative GUIs don't recognize some of the gtk2.x themes I've tried to use. They simply look like linux in the 90's with some themes that in other windows are gorgeous. Clearlooks for example works, but many others don't work in these windows. This may sound stupid but I've discarded lots of beautiful themes just for this matter..
Well, why?
