Good Piont

I never thought about it like that, it kind of makes me happy. Your right about the price too, even though I want to support the project I can't justify it especially with the shipping cost to Canada and that awful case,Gawd.

I realize that man, I just said that someone could probably do it without too much difficulty. I would make this product unique and worth the price, just try and find one of the ancient boards supported on the web site. I actually have one but my CPU died btw.

All chipset used in the OpenPC are suppoerted buy coreboot. Check http://www.coreboot.org/Supported_Chipsets_and_Devices. The motherboard is not listed there but there's no reason it couldn't be.

Then how would they have heard about the survey? I doubt it would have been on their msn home page.

It does however have a facebook group.http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=open-pc&init=quick#/group.php?v=info&ref=search&gid=229829655586

Once the Intel 945express chip set is out of production there is no fully FOSS supported hardware to take it's place.

Unless you count Lemote http://www.lemote.com/english/

Sun is no longer developing the OpenSPARQ.

Personally I'm vexed.

It's the hardware I wanted but not the form factor. I want a new netbook to save me from the slowness of my AcerOne. I'm currently considering a "Home Sever" but this dosen't have the several 3.5" drive bays needed for it.

It could've at least had a snazzy case. There is lots for mini-ITX around.
