'Actually'

Hum, I did over-state it.

"Tens Of Thousands" of accouns were compermized. But Google clames less then 500 of their accounts were compermized.

Do to lack of a source, I guess I will have to answer my question about Google giving into the US goverment, with "I can't say for sure."

I can only find news articals that came out in the vary beginning. I can't find the ones that say what happened in the end. Though I have a vivid memory of Google finaly giving in to the demand in the end.

However, thoughs were just two things I thought of off the top of my head.

I think we can agree, with no source needed, that anything going over the internet and stored on a server I have no control over nore knolage of security measures implemented. Is less secure then my GRsecurity+Pax Archlinux install on AES 256 LUKS encrypted partitions. I even have my TPM module check the Kernel before it boots it.

(and yes I had to build everything from source to make use of PIE and ACL.. I problay would have been better off with Hardened Gentoo but I just like Arch so much)

"My goal was to buld the most secrue Linux system I could. Using all the knowledge I have but still make exceptions so I can use it as a Workstation with Xorg and stuff. I also bet other people could set it up better then me. But it was fun"

Owe, I also have a anonymous OpenVPN account and tunnel all my trafic out of the USA to Asia. My VPN is with a trusted compainy.... Well, I trust them more then my ISP + NSA + anyone on my LAN + anyone hacking my ISP.

---------------

Owe, As for the...

"ChromeOS is a total Fail."

No I am not a ..."brain-damaged Windows user speaking out loud about Linux."

I said this becuas all the Pod casts "I" watch all said it was stupid. "The Computer Aciton Show" really dogged on it and I respect them more then any of the others....
I think teczilla is basicly for the "brain-damaged Windows/Mac users speaking out loud about Linux." But I still watch it because it is a tec show.

Re: chromeOS

Ya, I meen it is cool that Google is getting all behind Linux and stuff. If ChromeOS dose take off then it will surely bring more driver suport to Linux.

I just worry about not haveing a job when I get out of school. I don't want all my jobs to go to India because it's all online anyway. However, I guess that is going to happen anyway.... I don't want Africa or Brazil to learn how to program ether. They'll do my job for half the cost.

All the other stuff I said about ChromeOS still stands though.

Ya, your right. It is good to have something to reasure anyone that was woried that everything will be ok and just install...

Well, ok untill windows is done installing :p

Like I hoped and expected.

ChromeOS is a total Fail.

There are '3' problems with everyone moving to PXE booting systems or a ChromeOS type environment.

--Internet is still expensive and slow as ****. Sure some cable and DSL ISP's offer a fair "Down" speed but most don't offer any "UP" speed. All I can get is "1Mb UP" for $60/month

Security, didn't Google just get hacked a few months ago and lose thousands of customers Passwords and Usernames ???? Didn't Google Give out LOADS Data, Email, ALL DATA to the USA Goverment Just becuse they asked nicely ?????

At the end of the day... Installing ChromOS or something like it is only Cripling your computer. I can do everything I could do on ChromOS or the like with my real OS. HOWEVER, I can NOT do everything I could on a realOS with ChromOS or the like.......
Even my Cell Phone can do more when I install a real OS on it.

Instable Dule Boot with XP ? ;|

Anyone conserned about stability should not be using Microsoft products.

. . . Their is no need to remove Linux to install Windows. All someone would have to do is ... Install windows ...
Du Microsoft. It will over write the Linux partitions and MBR.

Boy, they are really a bunch of retards at M$. If they don't know that.
