If Konqueror would be a win-app too maybe it would be better supported by many websites...

I doubt. Beter support starts with more users.

On the other side (the website to be precise) a better error window would be a tremendous help. With moz I get a usually helpful error message, a linenumber and when I click I see the source with the right line selected.. Konq. gives me a cute red bug and an rather unhelpful message. Guess which browser is first supported but toolboxes and more complicated javascript..

Nobody expects the spanish inquisition!

KDE is a so big and wonderful piece of achievement that porting base apps to Windows(...) would be a way to encourage people to stay sticked with Microsoft, allowing Microsoft to make more money (for lobbying, advocates, patents, ...) : people around me really don't care about political and patent issues. The only reason that would make them quit Windows is the fact that emerged part of the GNU/Linux/Hurd(...) iceberg is sexy.

Yes, KDE (a major part of the iceberg) is sexy !

Maybe all applications woulb be good for Windows. Kicker is much better than the Windows- equivalent and konqueror is better than explorer, Quanta rulez, K3B is a really good free burner and KOffice would be cool, too. But.. that would help Microsoft, and not OpenSource.

If only one app from the list is ported, people will be encouraged to see the whole KDE in action (and they would need GNU/Linux or *BSD), so it could help to draw people's attention to free software. For example, I used firefox (it was called firebird in that times) in Windows before converting, and having the same app in Linux helped me feel comfortable when I was doing my first steps.
Yes, the whole KDE shouldn't be ported.

It is not the size of the hammer that counts. It's how you wiled it.
