I definitly think yast should be integrated in KDE, I cant stand a distro that doesnt use yast(wich is why I have suse 9.0 pro).

You dont need a virus to destroy a system with windows, It already has one it itself.

An easy to use frontend for AutoFS would be a great thing, which would make the live with network shares like NFS or SMB much easier.

To mess up a Linux box, you need to work at it; to mess up your Windows box, you just need to work on it.

I think the greatest problem of KDE is modularity! E,g,: I just wan't to use KMail and I am force to install all the kdepim kdenetwork packages. I believe that splitiing all the packages into: lcommon_libs + {set_of_tools} would be a great thing!

This is actually mostly up to packagers, and the problem of how the KDE CVS is set up. There's been a discussion about this subject on the kde-core-devel mailing list in the last month or so, discussing a potential re-structuring of the cvs modules.

What KDE (and Linux) sorely, sorely need is a decent VRML browser like Cosmoplayer, integrated with Konqueror or as plugin for browsers in general.


I try do do research with 3D worlds for things like directory navigation, and I have to fall back to Windows every time.

I would really like to see KDE handling media, especially video, better. I know this is not easy because the domination of the closed MS formats, but still, it would be nice :-)
