Very good concept, KDE should be less chaotic in some areas without losing flexibility. Eye candy - of course, and it should be tightly integrated with the KDE itself, so resources are not wasted. Mac has a login/logout feature that I admire - 3D cubic transition! I mean, that really is something, along with neat organisation of Preferences/Control panel and integrated apps, it makes it both pretty and usable. KDE is great and I use it ( don't have a Mac), but I think it is no shame to learn from the real good desktop ;).

An important usability issue is naming convention. Names like ThinKeramik don't tell you anything when you are not used to the Keramik style of KDE. And the descriptions are usually taulogogic.

It would be interesting to create an interface more like the Mac OS X ones than the windows.

I mean, no need for exemple to be able to change the graphic card with the choice between 300 when you only have an ATI 8500, or to automount on desktop every media like CD-Roms, drives, DVD, external drives ...
Real plug and play like in mac os ...
The possibility to be able to customize easier the task barre ...

To create things like this would make Linux and KDE a real good easy and powerful alternative to windo$ !
