Sorry, if the question is missleading (but why?)

It's about, where you would like to be able to replace the desktop environment. E.g. CDE or Gnome on HP-UX, explorer.exe on Windows (as a full replacement not as an add-on through cygwin).

To mess up a Linux box, you need to work at it; to mess up your Windows box, you just need to work on it.

CDE should not exist anymore...

Mac disapointe me, i thought it would be better.... there is only one way to do something and its usualy painful and long. really easy, but painful.

Windows is a piece of crapt. honestly Win2K is my favorite, but I hate 98 and XP. no need to talk about ME. and you should see how buggy 2003 is.

KDE allow me to do anything I want.
this is the best thing ever, i just wish I would find a rich man paying me to work 60 hours / week for it.

i wish....

CDE probably will be dead soon, with Sun seeming to be replacing their desktop with Gnome.

I'd rather they replace it with KDE, but at least you can get pretty decent KDE packages for Solaris! (I'm running KDE 3.1 at work on a Blade 100 and Solaris 9)

self employed

that 2003 is that the office server they show those o so clever ads on the teevee for?
maybe if they spent less on advertising... they could put out an affordable OS and maybe have it work more reliably .. nnnaaaaahhhhh.. that would be too much like linux.

one of their stupidest commercials is where the guy is celebrating because he managed to print up a spreadsheet on some dBase application and was cheering and the whole office comes up behind and dumps a jug of water on him... and all that expensive electronics... the expensive electronics which was supposedly PLUGGED IN and RUNNING when they dumped the water on it...

windows mega-bites.
