Intuïtivity! I think that MacOSX is for the user what QT is for the programmer, the way it should be (with some exceptions in MacOSX ;) But in general I think the most important feature of MacOSX is it's intuïtivity and consistensy, and Eye-candy ofcourse :). While reading their human interface guide, you see that they have really thought about how software should communicate with the user.

I think there is just something about the Quartz rendering that is just mouth watering. You can theme KDE to look like Aqua, but it still doesn't quite have that look.

Also, everything in Mac OS X operates smoothly. There are still glitches in X/Qt/KDE. It's just simply got the polish that any Linux/X GUI lacks.

Bearing in mind the way it is developed, KDE provides truly amazing desktop experience, although some of the things aforementioned certainly apply. First of all integration - IMHO, some sort of priority should be established, well-designed and useful apps (and only one for the particular purpose) should be chosen as the default, and given prominence - e.g. K3b for burning, DigiKam for communicating with cameras, GwenView for image manipulation, Kopete for IM, Appolon for file-sharing, etc. This approach may sound a bit discriminatory,and one of the very ideas of free software is variety, but I think this is the best way to go in the long run. KControl needs some work too, in some areas it looks more like info than control module - it could be merged with Ark's Mission Control to provide unique look&feel, although less XPish. Konqui - when files are right-clicked, it would be very nice that menu suggests e-amailing&printing, not only zipping/burning. MacOS has its advantages, but KDE/Linux could look/function much better, if some consistency was applied. All this withEveraldo's icons and a theme like this one

are a must if we want something good, functional and appealing to the eye ;).

more companies sell their software for mac than kde/linux , eg. dreamweaver
