Wouldn't it be lovely to have GTK engines that could deal more effectively with KDE themes? Let's face it; you'll not be getting GNOMErs to give up on their knee-jerk system anytime soon (it has gotten quite large, if you haven't noticed) and it would be nice for those of us who choose to use some GTK+ apps to have access to a single source of themes. I'm thinking perhaps a generic engine that's designed for the big three (gtk+, gtk2, qt) that can act as a meta-theme. Blu*curve and its offspring are a nice start, but they're only that.

Bluecurve is not just one theme, it's a couple of themes made to look like eachother. That is a lot of work for someone doing it in his/her free time. You can't write a unified engine because of the differences between qt and gtk, of someone would have done this by now.

A unified Gtk/Qt widget theme system will be MUCH easier with upcoming Qt 3.2's SVG support. (gtk 2.2 already supports this)
