 MS/Novell

I was looking forward with anticipation to the latest release of Suse, but as soon as I heard about Ms taking Novell as their concubine, I immediately started looking for a new distro.

While I am fairly new to the whole Linux thing, and am often unsure of what I am doing, I don't mind learning how to configure my computer to get it the way I want it. My very expensive notebook computer came with Windows XP installed on it, and since I installed Linux on my old desktop, it basically just sits around collecting dust. Why? Because, as I said, I don't mind tinkering with an OS, but what I do mind is spending over half of my time on a computer fixing the errors caused by the OS itself.

Linux used to be thought of as a joke by many, but thanks to those with more skill and knowledge than I possess, it has taken incredible strides forward.

Me? I think I'll stick with Linux, and promote it to all my friends.Someday, the whole Microsoft thing just may end up being a distant memory.

The most of the Linux users remind me of religious fanatics and they are wonderful this way. Yet, I can not help but wonder, just where does such fanaticism lead? Has not the history of the mankind taught us something? Why is it every time something rather different emerges that just such fanatics rush out trying to dismiss the same idea of the change? A seemingly alien nature of a change doesn't necessarily deem it bad. How about we wait and let the change come to pass and bring the fruits. And it is the fruits that we shall judge.

Bearing fruit? It's not too early to judge. Look at the track record of Microsoft. How many of us linux 'fanatics' trust Microsoft? I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather not eat any of that spoiled fruit.

i think he is right, in some of his viewpoints. lets see what this deal brings but don't trust microsoft too much. but also don't judge microsoft or novell now but when you see the fruits, as he posted.
