 Free Kicker!

by JPriest on: Aug 21 2002

Score 50%

There is a definite need to free up some space on the default Kicker. The task bar is nearly nonexistent on a 800x600 screen.

The log off applet could be removed since it is on the right click and K menu. The app loading taskbar notification default time out should be reduced from 30 seconds. Sometimes it stays there till time out long after the app is open. Some of the shortcut icons are also not needed.

Check some of the recent threads on the KDE usability mailing list, we've been talking about kicker a lot lately, and a few _good_ fixes have been made.

 WHY ugly Borders?!?!

what about, if the awful and ugly border from the Kicker will dissapear?! if you put a nice background-picture, but anyway, there is the "waaaaah" grey (or what ever) border that is really misplaced.. the size should be set to "0". Example: WinXP.
i can't imagine that this is so much work..;) and, another thing, to give KDE a great Look is, to separate the Style-pixmaps of the Taskbar-items from the same Style-Pixmaps of Konquerors 'Detailed View-Mode'(look at items "Name, Size, Typ,...")
both 'objects' don't have got any common thing.. don't you know? (do right mouse-click on taskbar-items and the other object from konqueror's detailed view) so why should it look the same??? i can't imagine, that this makes so much circumstances, and, imagine, the great increasment of a K(ustomizeable D(esktop,- E(legantly !!!

:D
