 Don't Care

Personally, I don't care. I'm not even sure what size "large icons" are....... I have always used the "no icons on desktop" (or whatever it's called) config option, I *never* use dessktop icons. I much prefer my background to some icons that are easily replaced by key shortcuts or kicker icons.

It should really be smooth zooming, I hope it will be like this in KDE3.1.

Sorry, this is not about panel icon zooming. You might want to look at:

 Large=?

What does large mean?
48? 64? 128?

I wouldn't go over 64.

In case you're speaking of "double-sized pixels" or whatever it's called, please no!

Wouldn't it be reasonable to choose them according to the screen-size?

 Large is...

48*48 pixel. Please note: The size of the desktop icons is also the default size for the icons in konqueror file manager. (Actually, one can resize the konqeror icons with + and -, but most people don't know/try).

The current default settings for kde 3.1 is:

cde,mac: large(48*48) if ((cpu_speed>300) && screen_size>=1024)

windows,kde: normal size (32*32)

 That's reasonable

48x48 is not that much on a screen of size 1024x768

I would definetely vote "default on" now. Can I remove my vote now, or do I need to vote twice "yes" to do so????

 64x64

IMO desktop icons should be 64x64 pixels, especially if the connectiva crystal icons will be the default. they look just too good to be at a lower resolution.
