I changed the voting so that only registered users can vote. I hope that this prevents some abuse of the voting system.
I also changed the icons so that they are easier to distinguish.

What do you think?

I'm glad you are making improvements on the voting system. You still have a long way to go though.

What about passing the user's session id and vote back to the server using ajax? That would be considerably safer than just placing everything on the URL. This method is not completely foolproof either (because the session id is still not encoded/encrypted), but I think it could eliminate a lot of the current abuse/security problems (automatic voting on download, accidental sharing of session id, etc).

That's really good.

some more things: What about a sawfish subsection? (Sawfish is back since July 2007) and what about a "Report broken link feature", which sends a message to the publisher, like "$reporter has reported, that the link $link_description from $content is broken, please check the issue". Furthermore Mailnotification upon response should be available as global setting from the profile, also there should be a Mailnotification option for publishers "Notify on comments for this content".

Can you also make it so that there is only one vote per user, until another update is done, then a user can vote again?
I know this will increase the load on the database, but would be nice to prevent users from abusing the system.
