 Pure SVG?

Is this pure SVG? If so, what happens to the small size icons? As anyone who has created a quality icons set knows, what looks good at 128x128 can be utter crap at 16x16. You need to tune and tweak the smaller icons so they don't like like smears when you scale them down.

Like it or not, monitors are still raster based. The current SVG fad doesn't change that fact.

I don't know what their actual plans are, but I personally think it is time to get rid of the small 16x16 icons. The vast majority of people that are awaiting KDE 4 with baited breath will be running at a sufficient resolution to make such small icons unneccesary.

Just my $0.02

I find 16x16 icons still necessary for mens for example. 22x22 would be a little bit too large for those.

"The vast majority" != 100%. If there's a problem maintaining icons for those with resolutions less than 1600x1200, then let's argue about that. But to simply cut them off because the user no longer runs in your clique is insufficient. There's also those of us with the required 1600x1200 but who don't want to waste all of that screen real estate with large icons. One of the reasons (heck, it's probably the prime reason) people get large monitors is so that they get more room, and they don't necessarily want to fill all that extra room up with bigger fonts and icons.

I use 16x16 icons all the time:
o in my systemtray
o in my task bar
o when I chose detailed view in konqueror
o application icon in the top left corner of the window.

16x16 icons are still a very important.

sure there will be disapointment, as with every good work. Hope you'll chage your mind when we have a full theme with SVG sources available.
