I think the new method is cool. and better as the old one!

But it would be even better if one could use the kde-look.org-accounts for voting in kde-forum.org...

yes, this is good way to vote, but one man can register million times with other username and vote,.. i think that IP (statick and dinamick - first numbers) adresses must be checked on day of closing contest !!!!

sorry fort bad eng. !!!

Now that is truly is one SSSAAAADDD individual. Yeah I guess the unique IP address vote would work but i work in a computer lab so getting 70+ votes a day would be tempting but wrong. Is it possible to add a restriction like physical location of an IP (latitude , longtitude ) ?

Verry saaaaad indeed. We will be moving the voting for contests to artist.ked.org so yes we will be able to secure it any way that we want! But the CMS version of the artist.kde site will not be up for a couple of months yet. Lots of work to do. This maybe an interesting read for some. http://theobromas.blogspot.com Thank you all for your input.

IP Address checking does not help. Think of all the people that are behind a NAT with dynamic IPs. It could also prevent other people from voting.

Well, yes. Someone could create hundreds of accounts, but this is much more effort than it takes to manipulate the votes here on KDE-Look.

I think we sould crack into the spy satalite networks and track down these wipers of other peoples bottoms. Then we could do things to them.... bad things like read thier email. Of course they would have to be using Win XP service pack 2 with the new and freshly compromised free spyware/firewall "Microsoft is more secure than Linux." Steve Ballmer

At this point, 02/12/05, there have been only 61 people that have voted on the shirt design. Get out the vote and pick your kdelook shirt of tomorrow!
Good luck to all the entries.

cheers,
