 SVG Support

Why you are starting a contest about SVG Wallpaper when the SVG isn't 100% supported in KDE 3.4 ??

It's kinda like what came first the chicken or the egg? In other words we need svg wallpapers in order to perfect thier support in KDE. When it comes to software/features 100% is an awfully big number. Only because it can always be improved. Just a thought.

50% is an awfully small number when the spec is out their and they even give you the algorithms for filters.

I've even tried mailing the KSVG guys to see what help they need but didn't get a reply.

 problem with fonts

hi

so see i right that the svg wallpaper in kde 3.4 are rendered with ksvgiconengine (and this is a small version of ksvg).

so there are some things that can displayed in ksvg but not in ksvgiconengine.

now i tested my background by a friend and it looks fine, up to one little problem. i use in my svg wallpaper normal text (versions number). somehow this text is not displayed?
i think, ksvgiconengine cant find the right font and so it uses no font, or something like that.

how can i correct my problem. is ther any changs to embed the font file in the svg file? one solution is to make a path from the text, but then the versionsnumber isn't editable any longer :(

An easy way to correct this problem is, if you are using Inkscape, convert the text into a path -- that might work.
