Hi there,

I see we are 8 for the moment, hope we will be more and more in the futur, with the upcoming Mandriva Spring release!

So! There is my question : Is there some person who are good artists in this group?

This will be so good. I think That Mandriva is a really good distribution, stable, beautiful and user-friendly, but Mandriva needs more publicity. So, when you go on the wikis of Ubuntu, there is a lot of banners and orthers things like that to promote Ubuntu. But for Mandriva? There is my idea, and I'd like know what you all think of it : We could create un web site, or just a section on the official wiki of Mandriva, and create somme banners, or orther cool things look like the Ubuntu Countdown.

So, to be simple : create a section in the official wiki of Mandriva just for banners, countdown and others publicity for Mandriva. Wath do you think of that?

Well, it's really a goof think doing something like this but i am not a artist too but IMO this is a young group and soon someone with good artist skills will appear and show us something :)
I am contribute to Mandriva in many ways, you can check something about mandriva on my blog http://warever.info/sr/blog/ and actually i am working on the 2008 Spring wiki, translating it.. i think will be useful =]
Thanks for starting the group, i will contribute by the ways i can and the time permits :)

Hi bedi and mapi,

I'm happy that you contribute to Mandriva, its, for me, the best linux distro, and she is beautiful and stable, user-friendly. So, I agree to you, bedi, This group is young, and I hope that some artist will join us to help. For the moment, I will go in the french forum of Mandriva (I'm from Quebec), and I will propose the creation of an internet site or a place in the wiki dedicated to publicity for Mandriva.

So, «Good-luck with your contribution, and I hope that Mandriva Spring will be a success, looks like the 2008 edition.

So, I'm actually collecting all stuff about Mandriva that is already on this site, and I'm talking with some contacts from others web site , searching for wath could be a place to officially start the project.

I'll give you news when I'll have. For the moment, I have a lot of stickers from peterm and a lot of wallpaper from verdergal and other guys. (Thanks to all)

So, I'll continue to search for a place to officially start the project, and when It will be official, I'll confirm to you all.

But, for those who are interested to contribute, some forum banners(signature forum) would be appreciated, and other nice stuff to put in blogs and internet site would be nice! ;)

So, I'll write here when I'll have news ;)

pretty nice. I like the other images as well. They could be of some use. Except the gnome one is a bit weird (a foot and "GNOME" text in the star somehow doesn't fit right).

Hmm, I would like to do some if I just could get somekind idea. I'm not actual Artists by that way, just a photographer and most of my photos are under other license what I cant give under GPL/CC etc, but on my free time... who knows.

KDE is made for users by users....
What can you give back to others?

hey all. Recently did a install of 2009, and have an irritating problem. Every time I start up my linux box, after log in, my desktop icons sometimes show the default white icon, instead of the actual ones I set. Also, some of my icons on the panel revert back to default icons. If I log out then log back in, its all good again. Anyone else having similar dramas?
