Have you thought that this group is actually propaganda to Ubuntu:P

lol, i see your point, but i think the opposite way, everyone is attracted to it because of the group logo, and instead they get the full story when they come in.

so i think its positive, but you also got a point.

 Missunderstanding

by snama on: Apr 8 2008

I think many people missunderstand this group abit. (nothing wrong with the group or anything) Many might think that this is an anti-distro group. As i get it its anti-ubuntu art on gnome-look. I personally think that Ubuntu is a great distro technically. I use it myself. It just works in most cases. (in my case anyway). And i do agree that gnome-look should be for gnome stuff and not fedora, suse or ubuntu etc.

I respect that, and I have agreed with you about the originality.
But as I said earlier, we are just naming the problem and not doing anything to fix it (maybe except greyhat, but he can go quite agressive sometimes:P)anyways, there is a site called ubuntu-art.org, which is a sister site of gnome-look.org. Maybe we should tell them to go to that site and post their artwork there.
What do you think?

I use freebsd 6.3-STABLE at the moment, I stick to freebsd. If youre new and you dont mind KDE (you can add gnome to it after the install) try desktopbsd. Make sure to get one of the latest 1.6 SNAPSHOTS.

So lets start a group or something more visible to the average user.
Maybe posting in some Ubuntu, Fedora, or other Distros art and telling them to go to their respective place.
It is sad to see that the most downloaded wallpapers are crap compared to the highest rater...

You are getting annoying.
FIRST: You do nothing to solve the Ubuntu flood on GNOME-look, you just stay in your little group and moan on how Linux sucks and how BSD is god.
SECOND: I actually made a step forward into making GNOME-look GNOME only.
I hope at least someone in this group appreciates what I am doing.
