it said something about line 1667, or maybe 667, i can't find the word progressbar in it at all, maybe u need that there, i dunno, haven't tried coding much, ust being cheap, like modifying a theme's images to be my own theme.

 Dotted lines and dark themes

 by MrDelish on: Oct 7 2009

Score 50%

I have several themes that are black and blue (<3), but dotted lines appear around buttons and selections in most of them. I find this very distracting - enough that I ditch the theme to avoid it. What controls whether or not the theme does this in the GTKRC file? I tried searching for this, but even a "you're stupid, let me google that for you: LINK" response would be appreciated. :D

I just realized that the conversation started by LuxieRayku on Sep 21 2009 addresses this same issue. I'll pore over the last response by TheRob and see if that works.

just so you know, the dotted lines are just the "focus". they highlight selected items sometimes (like when you press tab to cycle different buttons in a window.) but you can make it look like anything you want just by making an image called focus.png (or whatever) and putting that in the gtkrc file like so:

#focus

image
{
function = FOCUS
recolorable = TRUE
file = "Others/focus.png"
border = { 2, 2, 2, 2 }
stretch = TRUE
}

this way you can keep the focus but make it look the way you want instead of the ugly dotted lines.

This is helpful. And can you also tell us which matches should be assigned to this focus in gtkrc file? Thu

im still relatively new to this, so im not too sure what you mean by matches, but i just plug this in to the "default" style of the gtkrc that generally appears at the top.

It is great you are relatively new and have solution.
The matches are the style application codes to assign the style to class, widget or widget_class and you can locate them usually at the very end of gtkrc file. i.e. class "GtkWidget" style "default".
If you added your focus code at the beginning of the gtkrc file, within style "default" that means any of the matches assigned to use "default" style will include it and showing out the set you have added.
Did you add your code in the "default" part?
p.s. you could also link to one of your theme where you have the code in application and I can take a look myself perhaps. ;)
