Hey,

Im a big fan of dark themes, the more interesting the better in my opinion and imm glad there is now somewhere to talk with other like minded individuals. I was just wondering what the proposed use of this group was? perhaps a more detailed description would be beneficial?

The number one issue with dark themes is visibility with some apps like Evolution and Firefox. There needs to be a way to make dark themes work better without compromising the look. Gray levels need to be tweaked so that text can be seen better when light backgrounds are used by emails and web sites.

It isn't about it being free. Rather, its about the freedom it brings.

yeah, i like dark themes, but text is usually the only problem with them. i like matrix themes (green and black) and if u tweak them u can get them to work pretty good (except for in some text boxes, i go on the WoP forum and the text is black until i highlight it.

now i didn't look that over for spelling and stuff, so if there are mistake, so waht.

problem with dark themes is that everytime
you open a browser the background is
white, and if you want to use a dark
theme because it's easier on the eyes
then everytime you open a browser it
totally kills your eyes.

Plus the desktops are coded in such
a way that you are supposed to have
dark text and light bg... so there is
always gonna be problems with this.

just tone the color of the window
down a bit if you want something a little
more easy on the eyes.

Agreed on the design of desktop systems and what needs to be addressed is a way to remap the colors. Way beyond my skills but I'm sure there is a way it can be done.
