Description:

Yeah, this is a group where I thought we could post
screenshots of our desktops. Why? well, I like looking
at other ppl's desktops and configurations, they give me
Ideas I can't possibly have with my current IQ.

So please! if you have a very nice desktop, don't be shy,
put it up here!

please use bbcode when u post, makes it easier for
other users to view ur screenshot, just put "[url]" in
front of the link and "[/url]" after... then it will look
like this http://www.link.to.ur.amazing.screenshot.html
Thank u for ur consideration!

services one can use to upload pics and then share the link:

I consider this the 'BEFORE' snapshot. Just messing around, until I mess around some more and turn it up

Four desktops, as the pager on the top righthand corner shows. But I also have a drop down console, but instead of yakuake I use yeahconsole. You press a button and it would shade or hide up right? Now take it a step further.

The windows on the right side shade to the right (and disappear to look like this | ) and the ones on the left shade left. All prying eyes will see is the music player xmms (small footprint almost like the console apps) and the ever moving GLmatrix screensaver.

I replace icons with text all the time now. Personally all those fruity candy colors clash with the theme. Background is from design chapel, dug it out from a 2002 laptop. But the black one is 2004, I think.

Only in it for the eye-candy. What's *your* excuse?

 Blandness

@shedied
That's damn nice.
What's the font in your conky? White Rabbit, or a Larabie variant?

Nothing special on my end. Still Openbox, a rather bland palette and old fashioned widgets, but very usable and not overly bright.

thanks @gutterslob

THe font in conky is 'Envy Code R' and I think is free for personal use iirc. I've been thinking of getting Amiga font (first page on e17-stuff.org) since it is similar. The GUI you showed reminds me of my Litestep days. Good times, man.

thanks too, @theRob:

Your icon set would make me want to go back to using icons, but then I thought, it would work only if I used a grayish metallic theme like you have. And then I'd be back to messing with icons for hours heh.

@Padster

heh my laptop has the hazard theme on THE OUTSIDE, when I got tired of the boring black. I put the yellow diagonals on it with ornery glue. :)

i got outlining working in metacity, and was working on my biohazard theme, so now it has tiling on the sides, but didn't get it working on the bottom yet.

I had posted earlier screenshots in e17-stuff.org, under screenshots.

That was when I had two monitors. I need to replace the busted one soon...
