You must change file /usr/share/icons/large/mandrake.png. That all.

If you have set your menu style as gnome, then the icon used for the menu is theme specific and located in your ~/.icons/"name of theme"/scalable/places and is usually named start-here.png.

Otherwise, what tuxvoytec will apply. :-)

 Mandriva 2009 so far

Hey all. I just finished installing a fresh copy of mandriva 2009 and setting up my desktop. So far so good. A very polished distro, with noticeable improvements in speed. Anyway, I have one issue. Every time I turn on my machine, my shortcuts on the desktop don't show the icon image its been set. It just show's that default icon (white piece of paper). Also some of the preset icon images on my panel revert back to their default. If I log out then log back in, my icons are fine again, with a few misplaced. Its rather annoying. Anyone else experience this or similar probs. I remember it happening on 2008 at one stage, then it stopped. Cheers!

Hi. I should post a bug report. Thanks for that. By the way, I renamed all my icons so that they weren't the same file names as the default icon. All good now! And in response to your theme egnine thingo, every time I start my appearances in gnome control centre, i get that message that says "this theme will not look as intended bla bla bla" as well. But my theme still works without a problem. Im still not sure what theme engine I need to install to get rid of the stupid message. Last thing, I don't use kde and in gnome, to have auto start applications, u just need to add it to sessions. main menu --> System --> Preferences --> Sessions

I got this in Gnome Center section Personal, Session. To add programs to autostart you must give commend to this program. For avant is avant-window-navigator

sorry for my english -_-'
