Nice to see all the mandriva users joining the group. Has anyone gave mandriva 2009 beta a try yet?

I have run Cooker version since first alpha and MDV starts being in good shape. I have almost finished my own MCC icon theme too, altought the new MCC theme does look nice too :-)

I have only problems with few applications so far, with inkscape and ktorrent. On inkscape it makes all objects only a 0.95% opaque and does not allow to make 100% without editing XML by hand. And Ktorrent gives error when starting.

Everything else works perfect. The new MDV boot theme is bretty nice too....

You don't think I know that. Both groups belong to different categories. Is that a problem for you.

You can get bootsplashes by using package manager. It depends do you have 2008 or 2008 Spring (or 2009 RC1) what name it is. But typically a something -Free or -One etc.

If you mean that you want new boot splashes, you can search some of here and install them. Or then you could make your own by using Mandriva Control Center Boot > Boot theme option. All what you need is wallpaper right size and you can get what kind ever you want.

Hello all. I have to say, that as far as beta's go, this is probably by far the most stable one that I think Mandriva has released. Installation was a no brainer, installing smoothly, and quite quick.

As far as general use goes, I haven't ran into any problems as yet. But will definitely be working the OS hard over the next few weeks. Will keep you posted. Peace.
