Description:

The Absolute Fonts Archive created a page that will let you download many fonts one at a time, or for a fee you can download them all as a zip file.

Upon careful inspection of their site I found a multitude of corrupted font files. After removing all the corrupted files I was left with 6,760 fonts. I have chosen to turn them into a tarball and offer them as a free download.

Changelog:

Previously a perl script was available here for download, but as I am now hosting the fonts myself, it is no longer necessary.

If you are on a dial-up connection try using a program like kget to download them, in case there is a disconnect.

License:
All fonts available through the Absolute Fonts Archive (either directly or via the tarball) are freely redistributable.

Absolute Fonts Archive has neither licensed nor created any of the fonts on their site, but they do warn against commercial use of these fonts.

Hey, guys.
Just wanted to mention that installing that ammount of fonts really slows down the KDE startup.

Cheers,
rey.

That's pretty much a given. Anyone would be nuts to install that many fonts at once.

 Cooked them down

I looked through all the fonts, and cooked it down to about 30. That really took some time!
Lots of them look exactly the same.

Which 30 did you choose? Theres about forty that I use on a semi-regular basis. I'ld like to try and gather the best 50 and offer them in a seperate tarball and maybe as an easy to install DEB file.

If you want, you can look up my email in my profile.
